Here’s another way to put L. reuteri to work to stack the odds in favor of enjoying its spectacular full range of health benefits, this one courtesy of popular low-carb cookbook author and friend, Dana Carpender. Dana is a whiz at providing simple low-carb recipes that usually just take a few minutes to make.
Add Dana’s terrific little recipe to the other L. reuteri recipes I’ve posted in past for Tzatziki and Moroccan Roasted Vegetables With Tzatziki.
Dana Carpender’s L. reuteri Yogurt Dressing This is very simple and really good. ½ cup yogurt — I use my L. reuteri yogurt 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar 1 teaspoon allulose (or other sweetener to equal 1 teaspoon of sugar) ¼ teaspoon sea salt ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
Simply combine all ingredients in jar or cruet. Optionally, add some fresh dill or chives, finely chopped. Use on green salads and cucumber salads.
I’m getting 5 g of carb for the whole batch, but given the lengthy incubation, it’s likely considerably lower than that.
