Food grade Stainless Steel should be fine. I use glass canning jars with SS lids. Yogurt is acid and will corrode many metals.

Hi KSchroed:

Tomr pretty much nailed it.  I use glass exclusively, especially clear glass.  Easy see debris beforehand, clean, note whey separation and other visual assessment of fermentation.
