I reached out about the 20th of December with some lab results from my annual physical. At that time, my cholesterol was 278, HDL, 49, LDL of 210 and triglycerides of 107.

Well 10 days later on December 30th, I had some more blood work done by a different lab for a life insurance renewal. Most things stayed relatively close (cholesterol: 248, HDL:50, LDL: 152), but the biggest and most glaring difference was triglycerides which were 218!

I just cannot believe that this is accurate as I didn’t change my eating habits at all and have stayed fully on the program.

Can someone explain this or provide me some thoughts please?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Are you losing weight? I can’t see your previous posts because your profile is hidden.

When you lose weight, triglycerides (stored in fat cells) leave your fat cells and enter your bloodstream before they leave your body.

I’ve lost about 14 lbs since I started this in Mid-July, 2020. But again, the test results and change in triglyceride levels are only from a 10 day period...

Kayrod: Coffee consumption can play tricks with triglycerides as well, according to observations of Dave Feldman.

Interesting, Malcolm. I did in fact have my usual Bullet Proof coffee around 10:45am on the day of the tests. I had inquired about needing to fast and they stated only for 4 hrs which I thought was odd... Thank you.

Kayrod:

Dave Feldman also had some discussions about the very important requirement of fasting (I believe he said 12 hours) or else your trig value could come in elevated.
