Posted: 11/26/2020 11:06:04 AM   I recently tried a new brand of dark chocolate, which is made in New Zealand. It’s called Whittaker’s. Here’s a link to their website: https://www.whittakers.co.nz/ The nutrition facts are very different from other dark chocolate, especially the potassium content. I purchased their Dark Ghana 72% dark chocolate. A 40 gram portion (7 squares) has 3550 mg of potassium (which is about 75% of our daily requirement, assuming you agree that our daily requirement is 4700 mg per day). I know dark chocolate contains some potassium, but this particular brand is way out of line with any other brands, I believe. Furthermore, the Dark Ghana nutrition label says that a 40 g serving contains 31 mg of iron (or 171% of our daily requirement).  That’s very high too. And the calcium amount is 290 mg, which is probably 5 or 6 times more than what you get in a 40 gram portion of Lindt 70% dark chocolate. The only ingredient I don’t see on the label is Kryptonite.   Otherwise, I believe Superman would probably eat this stuff. Tags:
