Here are some results from my latest blood tests (Nov. 3, 2020).
hsCRP – 3.2 mg/L (Reference range preferably 1.0 or less).
I’m not sure if a poor night’s sleep can affect this value. I didn’t sleep that well on the night prior to my blood tests.
Previous values were 1.83 in September and 1.4 in June.
HbA1c – 5.5 (reference range is under 5.6 or so – Undoctored aims for 5.0 or less).
My value of 5.5 is very typical of what I’ve had for many years. Sometimes it’s a bit higher or lower.
Fasting Glucose – 94 mg/dL (Reference ranges vary but 80 – 90 mg/dL is better).
Fairly typical for me, although over the years I’ve had values a bit above or below this.
Vitamin D3 (25-Hydroxy) – 64.8 ng/dL (Undoctored reference range is 60 – 70 ng/dL).
I’ve been taking 4 x 1000iu vitamin D3 softgels for awhile leading up to this test.
Free Testosterone – 16.5 nmol/L (Reference range is 8.0 – 29.0 nmol/L).
This is a bit of an increase compared to 2014 and 2015. I also had 16.5 nmol/L in 2013. Basically, it’s holding steady.
PSA (Prostate) – 0.8 ug/L (Reference range is 0.0 – 6.5 ug/L)
This value has been holding steady as well over the years.
eGFR – 65 mL/min/1.73m2 – A value above 60 is OK for an old geezer like me.
This value is also holding more or less steady since I first got it tested in 2010.
GGT (Liver) – 96 U/L (Reference range is 11 – 63 U/L).
Not sure what’s going on and 96 is my highest value ever. Some experts say an optimum value of GGT in a male is 20 U/L or less. My recent liver ultrasound shows no fatty liver.
I might try NAC and ALA supplementation.
Ferritin (pertains to Iron) – 185 ug/L (Reference range from my local lab is 30 – 500 ug/L).
Other “experts” I follow say an optimum Ferritin level is 50 ug/L or less.
Total Cholesterol – 264 mg/dL
HDL – 57 mg/dL (Undoctored target is 60)
Triglycerides – 58.4 mg/dL (Undoctored target is 60)
LDL-C – 195 mg/dL
Lp(a) – 12 mg/dL (Reference range is 30 mg/dL or less)
That’s about it.
