Here are my latest Thyroid results, along with some of my comments.

TSH - 1.64 mIU/L (Reference range according to Lab Test Analyzer is 1.0 – 2.5 mIU/L).

My TSH has been approximately this amount for the past 2 years.

I sometimes take ERFA (similar to Armour Thyroid), but only 15 mg per day. I take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and then wait about an hour before eating anything). I think Bob Niland once referred to this dose as a “placebo dose,” because it’s so low it may or may not really be doing anything.

I also take an ionic kelp supplement (liquid) that provides 250 mcg iodine per day.

I was taking a B-complex supplement in the days leading up to this test, and it has biotin in it. But I stopped taking the supplement a few days before my blood draw.

Free T3 - 3.6 pmol/L (Reference range according to Lab test analyzer is 4.15 – 6.5 pmol/L).

The local lab I use says 3.5 – 6.6 pmol/L.

My value of 3.6 is on the low side, although it was up slightly from 3 previous readings in 2019 – 2020.

Free T4 – 13.4 pmol/L (Reference range according to Lab Test Analyzer is 10.3 – 23.2 pmol/L).

The local lab I use says 10.0 – 25.0 pmol/L.

Again, my value is lowish. I have been tracking previously around 15 pmol/L over the years.

Reverse T3 – I don’t have a current RT3 result, but my previous two tests came in nice and low at 7.1 ng/dL (2017) and 8.5 ng/dL (2019). The reference range is 10 – 24 ng/dL.

Thyroglobulin Antibodies – Under 10 kIU/L (Reference range local lab is 0 – 35.0 kIU/L).

I have maintained this value since 2018, so my thyroid is healthy in my opinion.

TPO or Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies – 10.8 kIU/L (Ref. Range local lab is 0 – 34.0 kIU/L).

My current value is down slightly from two prior tests in 2019 and 2020. Thyroid is healthy.

ERFA is the common desiccated T3+T4 preparation (from what I remember from one of thyroid workshops), and is very common in Canada (prescription item).

Ryan has explained what ERFA is. Thank you.

I noticed I had spelled it as EFRA in my original post, but I have corrected that now.
