Undoctored & Wheat Belly Recommended Supplements

• Vitamin D3, 4000 – 8000 IUs suggested per day – take in the morning.Ideally have your Vitamin D status measured in a 25-hydroxy Vitamin D test (aim for 60 to 70 ng/mL.  Use an oil based gel cap or liquid.See pages 272 -278 in the Undoctored book for more information.

   

• Fish Oil, 3000 to 3600 per day (add together the amount of EPA and DHA) – There are liquid and capsule options available.  See pages 287 – 290 in the Undoctored book for more information.

• Magnesium: The magnesium water is the best absorbed source, see page 351 for the recipe.Be sure to select a plain, unflavored milk of magnesia without sodium hypochlorite (bleach) in the inactive ingredients list. See pages 292 – 295 in the Undoctored book for more information and other sources.

  Alternatives:

  • Magnesium Malate, 400-500 mg (elemental magnesium): Take three per day, spread out.
  • Magnesium Glycerophosphate: Just to be safe and minimize the loose bowel effect, start with 1/2 teaspoon added to 8 ounces of drinking water; this provides 165 mg elemental magnesium. Drinking two 8-ounce glasses per day therefore adds 330 mg of magnesium. Increase the quantity of powder up to 1 teaspoon in 8 ounces water, if tolerated, twice per day to achieve ideal intake.

     

• Iodine, 350 - 500 mcg per day.Do not take the same time as probiotics.  See pages 278 – 287 in the Undoctored book for more information.

   

• PrObiotics – 50 billion or more CFU’s with at least a dozen strains: one per day for the first 6 weeks (longer may be necessary see pages 254 – 257 in Undoctored for more details. Take separate from iodine.
