I have been trying to get to root cause of my high CAC scores for the past 3 years. Recently I saw something about vascular damage from recreational pot use. I searched The Forum and found lot of older discussion on this topic. I searched Google and found an observational study or two that also related vascular damage to pot use. However, the one study I found that measured CAC, found very little relationship between increased CAC score in pot users who never used tobacco (that’s me). I do not recall Dr. Davis ever mentioning this, but he probably did identify tobacco smoking being linked to heart disease.
Questions: Does anyone have any additional or updated information that may link arterial calcification to pot smoking during one’s youth? Could my CAC really be that old, since I have not smoked anything but ribs and fish in 36 years?
