" "Second childhood, etc."  Society tends to make lite of a subject that (1) one out of (3) three of us will experience.  While I have to contemplate the usefulness of separating from this realm and try to understand the perspective of what is happening, from the vantage of a person experiencing mental decline, in terms of end of life experience, I simply, with all empathetic allowance, can not accept that convention has done us any favors. My mother at age 83 has mild to moderate dementia.  It was formally diagnosed as Pick’s.  I am more concerned with expressions instead of putting people into convenient pharmaceutical categories for the purpose of facilitating billables and ICD and CPT codes. I am prepared to do some heavy lifting, testing and relentless research.  This concerns all of us and we need to forge a composite strategy that gives us a fighting chance to realize our out years, age 120-150, with full mental awareness.  Let the leash of creativity and science out and come with......
