I’ve read that it does this in the Undoctored book.  But I don’t recall the book or anyone saying how it does it.

As far as I know, the only thing which can decrease triglycerides and increase HDL is lowering insulin levels, mainly with diet, restricting grains and starchy foods etc..

I am wondering if the fish oil works in the following way in lowering trigs and raising HDL:  I’ve heard that if one doesn’t have enough omega 3 or has too much omega 6 it causes inflammation.  Inflammation stresses the body and causes a cortisol release, which raises blood glucose.  The increase in blood glucose increases insulin and worsens insulin resistance.  The increase in blood glucose / insulin causes the generation of more triglycerides by the liver and lowers HDL as well. So since getting the omega 3 would reduce inflammation, this is how it lowers trigs and raises HDL?  I don’t understand any other way it could.

Here’s a little diagram I put together for myself to refer to with respect to how everything affects metabolic syndrome.. got the info from many authors of keto/low carb/fasting books as well as Dr. Eades on incretins from a youtube video.

The blue circled area is where I added in the omega 6 / omega 3 into the flow chart.  Does this explain how it works in lowering trigs and raising HDL?
