Posted: 12/19/2019 11:00:03 AM   In 2016 my dexa scan revealed osteopenia. Dr. prescribed Fosamax, and I cut out sodas and I added potassium citrate (per a couple of promising studies). After a year or so, my dexa scan scores had improved into a normal range, so I ceased Fosamax and the potassium. In 2017 I had my first cardiac CT scan with calcium score of 1017 LAD and 314 LCFX. In Aug 2018 I read Undoctored and began all of the protocols...wheat/grain elimination, quality fats, no veg/seed oils, recommended supplements etc. I have now lowered and stabilized my CAC score in the 700-800 LAD range (It seems the LCFX scores were not real). Last week, I had another dexa scan and it revealed I have digressed back into osteopenia and borderline osteoporosis. I have no idea why the regression, especially since I have been following all Undoctored protocols for over a year. Now the Dr. wants me to go back on Fosamax with another test in 6 months. Questions: 1. Is there a possible link between aortic calcification and osteoporosis/osteopenia? 2. I take 200 mcg of Vit K2 (MK 7) per day. Is this a suitable Vit K and dose to try and treat both the cardiac calcium and osteopenia? 3. Has there been any discussion here on potassium citrate for osteoporosis? 4. Thoughts on Fosamax? Tags:
