Posted: 10/21/2017 6:41:00 PM   After having watched Dr. Davis’ latest video on ApoB and lipids, I’m not sure of my latest results. My doctor has stopped ordering NMR lipids, saying my insurance doesn’t pay for it (not sure that is true). So he orders ApoB (which my insurance absolutely does not pay for). My April ApoB test was 112 and he told the PA to prescribe a statin. But unbeknownst to them, I had my NMR test run myself and the results are below: When I showed the PA the results from April,  she showed them to the doctor who was in agreement that I did not have to take a statin. My October ApoB test was 87. Still not where I’d like it to be but almost 30 lower than in April. Differences were (1) increased fish oil because I have Lp(a) over 100, (2) I started taking NP Thyroid and my TSH drops from 2.5 to 1.1. I think this a pretty good result, but I’m not sure. I’ll probably have another NMR run after the first of the year, but I wonder if I’m on the right track. I think so, and am thrilled because these results were after doing quite a bit of traveling and not eating quite the way I should. (but the trip to Iceland was amazing!) Tags:
