Posted: 6/28/2017 8:39:11 PM Edited: 2/24/2023 6:51:16 PM (1)   My husband’s doctor’s comments from a recent visit re: taking a daily baby aspirin: "it can’t hurt you, it may help, you’re better off taking it." Is there/what is the downside? Husband has no history of heart disease in his family.  Mine however does - both my dad and his dad died of heart disease at age 53 (I’m 55, husband is 74, both of us in very good health). My husband has been taking a daily baby aspirin for yrs, off and on.  I was taking at one time for a few months, but stopped - felt unnecessary as my own dr., aware of my family history, ordered a stress test for me a couple yrs ago and I passed with flying colors. Related --> are those "Life Screening" tests worth it? Given my family history I had signed up at one point but cancelled...they offer 5 tests for ~ $130: 1. Carotid Artery Screening (Plaque) 2. Heart Rhythm Screening (Atrial Fibrillation) 3. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening 4. Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening 5. Osteoporosis Risk Assessment Any feedback on this, e.g. it could provide legit info, or it’s more of a marketing thing?  Thank you.
