Not sure where was the best place to pose this question.  I just saw an article cautioning the use of magnesium glycinate supplementation.  It stated that in high amounts (I take 800mg daily), that is can cause fatigue, exhaustion, cardiac arrithymias, renal insufficiency and muscle fatigue or cramps.


Is this true or is it another article of media blunder?

Just for discussion reference, the CR recommendation is:
Magnesium malate form
425 mg (of net Mg) daily

Did the article suggest that it was the high Mg or the glycinate form that was the problem?

Not sure what to think about this but I'll add my n=1 experience.  I take 1200 mg glycinate a day.  It pretty much cured my fibromyalgia.  My blood levels are still low.

I was taking two 400 mg. each night and sometimes 3 to help me have restful sleep. Seems OK with me.
