I'm starting over with this question, since I have not received any guidance.  First posted in February.

Some time ago Dr. D recommended Nutra Sea products.  After seeing studies that showed DHA was probably the most important of EPA and DHA, I began using Ascenta (NutrSea) high DHA product, which has 1000 mg DHA and 500 EPA per teaspoon from
Squid oil; 2:1 DHA:EPA.  They have other products from Fish Oil which have a more normal 2:1 ratio of EPA to DHA, ie. higher in EPA.

Am I missing something by taking squid oil, even with higher DHA, rather than Fish Oil?

I am was using 2.5 tsp per day of the high DHA product, but I recently dropped to 1 tsp a day.  I did this because, as an E3/4 and finding my LDL-P high again and reading that fish oil over around 1500 MG a day might cause high LDL-P in E4's, I hoped  this might bring down my LDL-P down again.  When it was low, around 780, I was on around 1500 Mg of Fish oil (1000 EPA and 500 DHA).  Now with 1sp of Ascenta I get 1000 mg DHA and 500 mg EPA. I haven't had a NMR lipoprotein profile done since I switched, so I don't know yet if this helped.  Will probably do that in August when I have some other testing to do.

Any information here?

I am also taking the Ascenta product and would like to understand the direction that we should take.  I am taking 4500 per day and have a NMR scheduled in early September and hoping for positive results.
