Osteoporosis is a condition where you lose too much bone, and don't make enough new bone to replace what you lost. This leads to weak bones and an increased risk of fractures.

Research shows that vitamin D is critical in maintaining healthy bones throughout life. Vitamin D helps in the proper absorption of calcium from your diet.

Research also suggests vitamin D leads to increased muscle strength and function, meaning less of a chance of falling and breaking a bone.
