On this forum, we debate often the evils of carbs or sat. fats and so forth. In our case, it is usually determined by the Apo E4 allele. But a while back I had read "Eat Right 4 Your Type" by Peter D'Adamo. Under D'Adamo's classification, because I am blood type A+, I should limit red meat and eat something akin to a japanese diet. Oddly enough, this matches up with my Apo E3/4, which requires limitation of saturated fat. It has me thinking that maybe there is something to this diet.

Fortunately for me, I love fish, vegetables, stir fry, and oriental food. So, for me, his diet recommendations work and are consistant with what I think I need to do for my genetics.

But it makes me wonder. Does anyone give any credence to the Blood Type Diet? And, if it does work, the follow up question is why. By what mechanism would blood type have any bearing on response to dietary changes? There is a nutritionist with Health Diagnostics Lab who claims that she has had remarkable success using the Blood Type Diet on her patients. I am not overweight and my interest is focused entirely on dietary issues related to heart disease.

Thank you, Ptheut! In the meantime, I'll get diagnostic to validate progression. Am wiped out, no coronary plaque, yet, ascending & abdominal aneurysms, 2 cerebrals. Passed out within 5seconds of stress/echo.

Ptheut, are you Apo E3/4 as well? What K dose do you consider optimal. I have a bottle of your green K. Are you suggesting 2 capsules instead of 1?
