I’m 71, female, 5’5", 162 lbs. not athletic and never have been.

My RHR is 62-65, pretty low for a non-athlete as I understand it.

My BP is erratic and not responsive to drugs and has been this way for years.  Has been as low as 82/65 first thing in the morning, probably somewhat due to dehydration overnight.  Then up to <160/<90 in the afternoon, though not usually that high.  Extensive self-experimentation says I’m not salt-sensitive.

I’ve occasionally worn a heart rate monitor (chest strap type) when strength training and my HR goes up quickly to around 135-140, then drops quickly during rest between sets.

Is the increase in HR an indication that my BP is dangerously high?  I’m not sure of the relation between the two.  Or am I just so out of shape that my body says "what the **** are you doing?"
