I dunno if this post really belongs in THIS topic area ... I am very curious if others have experience [good, bad, otherwise] with measurement of pulse wave velocity AND ALL OTHERS KINDS OF MEASUREMENT DEVICES that might non-intrusively sense any kind of the physical expression of how well the heart is able pumps fluid ... so it’s not really atrial fibrillation, per se ... but a matter of continuously monitoring and sensing different facets of heart health by looking at a variety of physical artifacts of heart performance that we can measure with a non-intrusive device or blood test or something worse, more expensive, less likely to be used continually ...

It’s not JUST pulse wave velocity, of course ... but I am definitely intrigued and closely examining articles, such as Novel Methods for Pulse Wave Velocity Measurement ... as an engineer/measurement systems geek, I am always interested in the robustness of the systems, bias, linearity, stability, reproducibility, repeatability ... the tractability of actually USING the device or the data obtained ... as well as the durability or reliability of the tool to function in a reliable manner over the years ... the quality of the mfg process to build the devices or its necessary accoutrements, etc.

As much as I LOVE measurement devices, I am somewhat doubtful whether the bang is CURRENTLY sufficient for the buck expended on these measurement devices for all but EXCEPTIONAL cases or early adopters ... but I think I can see where they would have value for dojos, sports teams and use cases where measurements and especially comparative study of the data has the potential for outsized value [or money is no object].

I am VERY EXCITED about the long term potential of measurement technologies that help us to calibrate our own sense of body awareness.

I really believe that CONTINUOUS MONITORING through INFORMED, CALIBRATED AWARENESS of the individual is something that really supports the goal of UnDoctored is all about ... HEALING SHOULD BE FREE ... free as in free speech or free and open source software -- like any FREEDOM, it depends upon people exercising it ... the methodologies or thinking behind how these measurement devices furnish their information have to support that exercise of HEALING freedom ... or otherwise the gear is just expensive, high-margin gadgetty JUNK.
