This is more my husband Ed's story, but we are a team and I am his advocate, care taker and cook !
Ed is 58 years old, at the age of 46, Oct 2004 Ed went in for a check up because he was not feeling well. Ed ended up having a series of test, Eco cardiogram, injection fraction of 4, a cardiac cath which cause plaque to slip in to his cerebellum and caused a stroke, no parallasis, he suffered loss of balance and as soon as they deemed him stable they performed quadruple bypass surgery. Ed is also a diabetic, stress induced from a car accident in 1985, while working for the Sherrifs Dept. He spent 2 months in two different hospitals, recovering and rehab. He got a large bed sore from not being turned for 7 days in ICU and when they pulled the pic line out after surgery it threw a clot into his hand and fortunately only had to have his index finger amputated. While recovering, two months after returning home to a wife and three children his wife asked him to go live his mother and she filed for divorce.
Ed and I met thru friends at church and married in 2008 !!!!!
Ed recovered nicely, to spite the critics who said he would never work again and eventually returned to the road as Sgt. He is a fighter, for 8 years, we have had fun and traveled and enjoyed.

Almost 2 years ago, two weeks before leaving for a trip to Australia from Florida, Ed went into Congestive heart failure and we had to postpone the trip. This past March, 2016 we took that 5 week long trip, we retired in July of 2015, Ed had 37 years in law enforcement. On May 10th, unbeknownst to us, Ed went in to AFib, he has a pacemaker/defibrillator since 2005, so he didn't really feel different. When we look back on it, we now see where there were signs but we had no idea. It wasn't until June 11 that we were sitting on the couch and Ed said might right arm is numb, I called 911 and off to the hospital we went, the emt's couldn't find a pulse in his right arm. They performed an eco cath to shoot him with a drug to disolve the clot (the name of the drug has escaped me) clot busters....... He was in ICU for 5 days.

Aug 5, Ed was scheduled for a TEE and a cardio version, everything went off without a hitch.
Aug 16 abdomen ultra sound, found as cites !
Sept 1 cardiac cath, found 99% blockage in his LAD
Sept 9 angioplasty and 3 stents
sept 13 back in AFib
Sept 26-28 in hospital to be monitored while they start him on Tikosyn ?? He did fine while there and was converted back to sinus rythym after the second dose of Tikosyn.
Oct 10, Ed looks terrible, feels terrible. Sees cardiologist Oct 11, Oct 13 sees pacemaker doc, and internist and I keep saying he looks terrible and his BP was 80/60 all week. They send us on our way.
Oct 14 3:26pm Ed passes out in the bathroom, crashes thru the glass shower door. He went in to cardiac arrest 4 times and his defibrillator shocked him 4 times to save his life.
The culprit was the Tikosyn put him in to Trasades rhythm and nearly killed him. Needless to say he off Tikosyn and recovering.
Nov 1 in A flutter and Tachycardia, doc was able, thru wireless pacer to take him out of a flutter, increased metoprolol to decrease heart rate. Watching him closely. Heading to cardiologist in 5 mins.

Joined cureality in Sept, have read the wheat belly and we have removed wheat from our diet. I have started him on all the suggested supplements to keep him out of Afib. We are
Hoping we are not to late.

Please help !!!!!!
