I recently read a post by Robb Wolf (author of Paleo solution)  that berberine in some cases can be as effective as metformin in lowering sugars and as a side benefit enhances the guts microbiome.  Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If berberine functions as an antimicrobial, won’t it therefore cause dysbiosis? I tried Bob’s link but it won’t let me read the longer posts which I am sure answers my question. I want to use it to regulate my strange fasting glucose.
