After atrial fibrillation starts, a person should immediately take a Pradaxa tablet which will keep platelets from clotting.This immediately removes the risk of a stroke. A cardiologist can suggest the correct dose for each individual. Once the person is sure atrial fibrillation has started they can calmly take medication to restore normal sinus rhythm.There is  no need to rush to the emergency ward of a hospital. I take two flecainide tablets and if that hasn't worked after four hours, I take another two flecainide tablets.There are other medications which restore sinus rhythm.The trick is to find one that works for you. Riding an exercise bike at maximum speed  for 20 seconds caused me to have atrial fibrillation in September so I won't be doing that again . I'm not young any more. My exercise will be long moderate exercise. Another episode was caused by eating frozen blueberries but this only happened once and I've eaten frozen blueberries often.The cardiologist said he knows someone who gets atrial fibrillation from eating ice cream.
