Hi,

I am hoping for some insight on my tinnitus.  I’ve read some of the posts on this topic in general discussions, but I don’t have any of the typical causes.

I don’t take aspirin, never been exposed to loud noise in military or from rock music for long periods of time.  My tinnitus is bilateral and for at least 20 years.  I’m currently 59.

I’ve been following Dr. Davis program for about two years, pretty much grain-free with occasional slips.  My lipid panel improved, LDL went down.  My HgA1C went down.  But tinnitus persists.

I’m taking most of the recommended supplements such as fish oil, Vit D, etc, but those don’t seem to help tinnitus.

I did have migraines but with Dr. Davis magnesium water every day, they have largely subsided.  Every once in a while (about every two weeks) I take about 800 mg ibuprofen for what feels like the first inkling of a migraine and it subsides.  Could the ibuprofen be causing the tinnitus?

Other than that, I don’t take steroids.  Only armour thyroid.  Occasional Ativan

Any insights or suggestions would help.  My brother said zinc helps him, anyone try this?

Thanks in advance,
Virginia

From what I’ve read, the auditory nerve is actually doing the ringing, not the brain seeking a signal that isn’t there.
