Last week I ordered my hydrogen breath test from metsol.com.  It arrived quickly via first class mail.  On Sunday I did the test and returned it Monday via first class mail (postage was paid by the lab).  The test was easy to do, aside from choking down 8 oz of sugar water,  which has also messed with my blood glucose for Monday and Tuesday with it just recovering under 100 this morning.  It also gave me a massive headache and general feeling of yuck all day on Sunday, assuming from the sugar rush.

I got the results this afternoon, which is awesome fast.    I am attaching them and I am indeed SIBO positive, even after a 2 week trial of Dysbiocide and FC-Cidal. The criteria for positive results is >20 over baseline at 90 minutes, which I am at 39 over baseline.   I did not do a test before I started.

I am wondering if I should finish the two weeks of the antibiotics I have and then test again.  The test is a little pricey ($129) so I don’t want to do this test very often.

I realize that treating SIBO and research into it is very new.  I am also thinking of seeing if I can get a referral from my doctor (a DO in an Integrative Medicine practice and very open to my requests) to a Gastroenterologist who is open to helping with treatment.  Thoughts?

You’ve had a gastric bypass if I remember correctly.  If so, then the above results are invalid.

@lconnolly..  Why are they invalid?  I was actually wondering about what role the bypass would play.  Can you give me some specifics?    Thanks!

What antibiotics?
I too agree that symptoms versus testing is the way to go.

Antibiotics were Dysbiocide and FC-cidal.  In studies I saw the the were used interchangeably with Candibactor A and B
